Like a genuine intellectual, designer Miuccia Prada thinks through the idea first before undertaking its elegant and extensive execution. Take just one notion; the way Miuccia built columns into most looks, cutting her tops, low-waist skirts and sheaths with plisse vertical lines, mimicking fluted classical columns. Even the models' hair came with indented flutes, repeating the column motif.
Beginning in mono-color, the designer gradually added the Pompey mosaics, heads of gods and devils or geometric patterns, all that tad ruined, before they all moved down to create a series of great new shoes in the same hues and prints easily the best footwear seen anywhere this season. famous scientist biography, list of famous duos, famous hermaphrodites, famous short speeches
Milan shows keep focus on shoes, hats and scarves. As the credit crunch threatens to crimp spending on luxury goods, designers are increasingly aware that jewelry, hats and shoes give shoppers without the spending power for a red-carpet frock a way of buying into their favorite brand.
"I think shoes and costume jewelry are racing ahead," Ferre CEO Michela Piva told Il Sole 24 Ore newspaper. "You've only got to think that 1,000 euros is not enough to buy a beautiful bag by a famous brand but you can have even luxury shoes for 350-400 euros."
Barocco's models strode out in strikingly high mules in metallic bronze or black-and-white geometrics, while Scarpa -- her name means shoe in Italian -- scooped into platform shoes with a Z shaped heel in red or bright blue.
She buckled smooth metal bracelets that looked like unattached cuffs on models with sleeveless dresses.
The designers -- among the first to present collections in Milan's womenswear week which runs from September 20-27 -- both opted for big, black shiny jewelry.

While front row guests seated at cafe tables munched on cupcakes with towering smears of frosting - well, some of them did, anyway - Betsey Johnson sent out a wildly varied Spring 2009 collection in several acts, Tuesday, Sept.9.
Starting with a pouty China doll in an 18th century-inspired hoop skirt-meets-prairie dress, Johnson then jumped ship to an '80s looking pink polka dot number, a short tiered ruffle skirt - classic Betsey. Baby doll dresses, playroom prints, a romper and fitted bustier jumpsuit rounded out the kiddie section of the show. Brazoria county | Row row fight the power
I’m still bit cracked up from the party last night. It wasn’t that huge party as usual facebook friends and common friends raked up the part. While dear Natasha on the other hand was also celebrating her birthday up north with the bunch of gorgeous boys from the woods, so to say.
I’m extending my birthday greetings to Nat and my huge hellos to the punch and blow cute boys in the woods and of course the girls that keep the boys hotter each day. So glad to give you some great news on Fendi. Fendi’s latest Artist baguette lets you design a true blue one-of-a-kind. The white canvas bag comes in a super chic set with ten colorful Pantone markers to let you color and draw to your heart’s content.
Okay, here’s the catch…it’s $1,300…for a canvas bag. We realize it’s not some exotic leathery animal skin or anything, but I have to admit that it’s kind of a fun, creative idea.
